This is known as early signs of Gum Diseases. It is important to know about the two types of gum disease and how to prevent bigger problems.
The first one is known as Gingivitis.
What is it? This is an inflammation for the gums and is the first stage in gum disease. Gingivitis is possible to treat with good higiene habits. Gingivtis is caused by plaque build up.  If the plaque is not removed by daily brushing and flossing it causes problems it can cause irritation and bleeding of the gums. The  good news is that the damage can be reversed with good hygiene. But if you don`t practice good hygiene the  bone and connective tissue that hold the teeth may be affected turn into a major problem.
How do you know if you have this gum disease?  The most common symptoms are red, swollen and tender gums and probably blood when you brush your teeth, another sign would be the gum pulling away from the teeth. Gum disease can cause a pocket that form between the teeth and the gums where the plaque and food debris collect.
The second and worst of these diseases is know as Periodontitis
This is more aggressive that gingivitis because it affects deeper in the bone and the connective tissue that hold the teeth.
The gums separate from the teeth and the periodontal pockets became infected. As the disease progress the damage is worst, the pockets deepen and the bone and gums are destroyed. Eventually, teeth become loose and may need to be removed.
