Prettau Zirconia Bridge Mexico
For patients looking for a more durable option for their final Implant-Supported Restoration, the option would be a Prettau Zirconia Bridge in Mexico. Here in our clinic, we use Zirconia from Zirkonzahn and are able to design and mill a Full Prettau Bridge to be supported by Implants.
Benefits to use
Prettau zirconia has a translucent quality, like natural teeth. That gives it a distinct advantage over other materials in terms of aesthetics. Zirconia distinguishes itself through its extremely high translucency and perfectly natural appearance.
Prettau bridges are much more stable and actually form a supporting structure that minimizes any movement and stress on the implants.
Zirconia Bridges are more comfortable than other dental implant-supported solutions.
Zirconia offers high compatibility with the human body. The material is metal-free and boasts a biocompatible composition that can be well-tolerated by even patients with the highest levels of sensitivity.
Zirconia is stronger and much more durable than acrylic. You may never need repairs or maintenance, so it actually saves you money over time.

In order to diagnose, plan and execute this treatment correctly, Dental Offices need the following Equipment: 3D CBCT ExtraOral Panoramic X-Ray machine (a Carestream CS 9200 3D Machine in our office), Intraoral Scanners, NAVIDENT (Dynamic Navigation for Dental Implantation), Surgical Guides, totally equipped CAD/CAM Laboratory.
Zirconia is the result of a chemical process: the basis is zirconia sand, partially stabilized with yttrium and made into Zirconia blanks through a mechanical process. Among the dental ceramics available today, zirconium oxide is without any doubt the material with the highest flexural and tensile strength.

Time Frames for Prettau Zirconia Bridge in Mexico
Treatment and Stay in Cancun
Prettau Zirconia Bridge in Mexico requires 2 visits to Cancun. The shortest time frame is about 5 months in the lower jaw and 7 months in the upper jaw. This includes surgeries and the placement of the denture. However, the process can last a year or more, especially if you need Bone Grafting or other preliminary procedures. Depending upon the health of the structures of soft and hard tissues in the mouth, one of two surgery approaches will be used:
- Surgical Phase: Requires at least a 7 days stay in Cancun. The dentists surgically place in the implants and 6-month later you will return to complete your treatment.
- Restorative Phase: Requires at least a 10 days stay in Cancun. Six months later, a second surgery exposes the tops of the implants.
Design & Manufacturing of
Prettau Zirconia Bridge in Mexico
The Prettau Zirconia Bridge is designed and manufactured in our in-House Laboratory using CAD/CAM Technology (Computer-Aided Design / Computer-Aided Milling), ensuring a precise fit. The advantage of this restoration is that Zirconia is very durable, so there are no worries about the bridge chipping or cracking on you. The Bridge sits on your gum line and has no palate.
To achieve true to natural aesthetics we use pink porcelain to represent the gingiva and in some cases put a thin layer of porcelain along with glaze and stain techniques applied by our Ceramicists.

Smoking and Dental Implants don’t go together. Why did you lose your teeth/tooth in the first place? We know smoking can be difficult to quit but we insist that patients stop smoking at least 3 weeks prior to their Dental Implants. In rare cases, we might ask you to quit sooner. Smoking can interfere with healing by constricting and decreasing blood flow all over the body which may prevent the wound from healing properly. Do not resume smoking after surgery until your dental surgeon authorizes it.

We know you will be on vacation and the all-inclusive bar might be tempting. Please try and stay away from alcohol consumption for a minimum of 5 days prior to your procedure. Alcohol causes increased bleeding, increases the chances of infection, depresses immune functions, and may interfere with wound healing.

Post Op Instructions
Standards of good oral hygiene are critical for the success and functionality of the implants and restoration. The best way to prevent infection and ensure healing is to keep your mouth clean. Clean your mouth thoroughly after each meal beginning the day after surgery. Use a soft-bristle toothbrush and toothpaste after meals and at bedtime. A dental Waterpik is very useful to irrigate underneath the denture to flush out debris.
Minimal bleeding is expected after this implant procedure. The best way to stop bleeding is to place a damp piece of gauze in the mouth and gently bite for 30 minutes. Rest quietly with your head elevated. If bleeding continues, use gauze for an additional 30 minutes. Pink or blood-tinged saliva may be seen for 2-3 days following the surgery and does not indicate a problem. The suture material may last 2 to 3 weeks and should be left alone. Do not pull or cut the sutures yourself.
Swelling is the body’s normal reaction to surgery and healing. The swelling will not become apparent until 24 hours after surgery and will not reach its peak for 2-3 days. After this time, the swelling should decrease but may persist for 7-10 days. Swelling may be minimized by the immediate use of ice packs. Apply the ice packs to the outside of the face 20 minutes on and then 20 minutes off while awake for the first 24 hours.
Unfortunately, most oral surgery is accompanied by some degree of discomfort. If you do not have an allergy to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications we recommend taking this prior to the local anesthetic wearing off. More severe pain may require narcotic pain medication. Narcotic pain medication will make you drowsy, do not drive or operate mechanical machinery while taking the prescription. You may also be prescribed an antibacterial mouth rinse which should be used twice daily in the first two weeks following implant surgery. Post-operative antibiotics should be taken as directed and always take the entire course of the prescription. All medications should not exceed the recommended dosage.
After General anesthetic or I.V. sedation, start with liquids. While numb, patients should avoid hot liquids or foods. Your food intake will be limited for the first few days, compensate for this by increasing your fluid intake. We recommend high protein shakes/smoothies (Ensure, Special K, etc.) as meal replacement supplements. Patients are restricted to a SOFT CHEW diet for the first 6 weeks… if food cannot be easily cut with a fork… DO NOT eat it!

- If the corners of your mouth are stretched, they may dry and crack. Your lips should be kept moist with an ointment such as Vaseline.
- Sore throats and pain when swallowing are not uncommon. The muscles get swollen and the normal act of swallowing can become painful. This will subside in 2 to 3 days.
- Stiffness of the jaw muscles may cause difficulty in opening your mouth for a few days. Do not force your mouth open. Massage the muscles and apply moist heat.
- With upper jaw implant treatment, you may develop bleeding from the nose. This is usually a temporary finding and will not persist past 2 to 3 days. Avoid blowing your nose for several days.
- An appointment with your general dentist may be needed within a few days of surgery to make any adjustments to your temporary denture.
- Your case is individual as no two mouths are alike. Discuss all questions or concerns with your oral surgeon or implant coordinator.

Prettau Zirconia Bridge FAQs
This is a non-metal high-quality ceramic material that is used to make some of the most durable and natural-looking dental restorations. Zirconia or Zirconium Dioxide is a non-porous material that exhibits the characteristic of both ceramic and metal it is stain-resistant and does not absorb odors. Zirconia is the strongest available denture material, and it can be made to look indistinguishable from natural teeth.
Even though acrylic is lighter and less expensive, It is also a material that stains easily. PFM is 1 of the oldest methods of restoration. Due to the difference in strength between the porcelain and metal, it is known to chip after time. Eventually, the metal starts to show through leaving a discolored look. Eventually, the metal starts to show through leaving a discolored look. Zirconia is exceptionally strong; a study of over 4 years surveying 110 patients shows a 99.8 success rate. To maintain a Zirconia Superstructure is recommended to treat them as your own natural teeth. You must brush them daily and visit your local dentist for regular check-ups. They will remove the superstructure to clean any hard-to-reach areas. These measures will ensure you the superstructure lasts you a lifetime.
To restore your surgical placed titanium implants with a 4-year warranty on your Prettau Zirconia Bridge a cost of as little as $6,400 USD per arch is all that is needed to complete and restore your smile.
To complete your restoration stage successfully a 10 – 14 day stay is recommended.
- Master Card
- American Express
- Bank Transfer
Keep in mind that you will only pay for the work that is completed on each trip. It is not necessary to pay for the entire treatment on your first visit. This will help you save enough to have your Zirconia superstructure fitted and still enjoy your stay while in Cancun.
To ensure the success of your Zirconia superstructure and the stability of the implants, during the Osseo-integration stage you will have healing dentures to wear. As the superstructure is strong in weight and character is not recommended to place them on implants that have been recently placed.
As this is the final stage of your dental treatment, the painful part is over. You may experience a little discomfort once the abutments and the superstructure are placed, however in a short amount of time this discomfort will not be felt as you get used to your new full set of fixed and functional teeth.
Fixed Hybrid Dentures are an ideal solution to Implant Supported Dentures. These Dentures can be used with as few as 4 Implants, keeping in mind that the more Implants the patient has, the better stability and load distribution the denture will have. These final Dentures are made for a patient on the restorative phase of the Implant process, once the Implants have been osseointegrated properly.
With the Snap-on Denture, a patient will have the advantage of having a Fixed Restoration that they are able to give maintenance to themselves. Meaning no need for visits to the Dentist for periodic denture cleanings. Snap-on Dentures are used with a ball and housing concept.
