Recover your Oral Health keeping your natural teeth, Apicoectomy Mexico
An Apicoectomy is the Surgical Removal of the infected tissue caused by the filtration of bacteria into the pulp chamber. During an Apicoectomy the Surgeon will make an incision into the bone right at the apex of the tooth. A CBCT 3D imaging helps our Surgeon locate the infection and surrounding hard tissues.
Periodontists perform the apicoectomy as a last resort to save the natural tooth, when the patient presents severe infection. It is referred to as a minor surgical procedure that removes the infected apex (tip of the tooth’s root).
Apicoectomy is an alternative or an adjunct to a Root Canal. Most of the time happens when a Root Canal was not enough to clear the infection.
This procedure is done in the periapical part (Around the tip of the tooth root). Unlike endodontics, which removes the neurovascular pack, without intervening on the Dental Root.
Both treatments share an approach, as they are intended to preserve the natural tooth. In addition to cavities, traumas, and bruxism, they can also trigger in an apicoectomy.
The consultation fee includes 3D CBCT X-Rays, Periapical X-Rays, intra-oral scanning, surgical guides, models. We offer you a state-of-the-art facility with specific technologies to perform these treatments with precision in short time frames and even transportation from the airport, and to your hotel and appointments in Cancun.
The success rate for apicoectomy is very high. However, in very specific cases, apicoectomy does not represent a real solution to the problem or is contraindicated. The decision will be made by the periodontist based on the patient’s medical history and the diagnostic consultation. If the patient has any of the following conditions, the apicoectomy will not be possible and the tooth will have to be extracted:
If the tooth has been severely decayed to the gum line or if there tooth is found to be brittle upon physical evaluation we may have to extract the tooth to prevent from further infection.
We use the Bicon System of Short Implants in order to take advantage of minimal bone levels and avoid vital structures such as the sinus or mental foramen, which usually require multiple visits.
Implants that are much longer in length than conventional Implants (40 mm – 50 mm), and are placed in the dense Zygoma bone or otherwise known as the cheekbone. The advantage of using Zygomatic Implants is that it eliminates the need for procedures like Bone Grafting and/or Sinus Lifting, which would require more surgery and longer healing periods before the placement of the final restoration.
Mini Dental Implants in Mexico are a great option for patients that are not candidates for normal Implants. It is also a great option for the Snap on Dentures Treatment we offer. The Snap on Dentures treatment in Mexico is a one-trip solution were we will place either 4-8 Mini Implants and a Snap on Denture.
